Coast Guard rescues 12 from burning boat on Lake Havasu
SAN DIEGO – A U.S. Coast Guard boat crew from Aids to Navigation Team San Diego rescued 12 people from a burning boat on Lake Havasu, Saturday evening.
The people were transported to Windsor Beach State Park, Ariz., and transferred to emergency medical personnel.
At approximately 4:55 p.m., the boat crew received a mayday call from people aboard the burning 42-foot boat and responded to the scene.
The Coast Guard crew recovered one person from the water. Other boaters in the area also assisted by taking people off the burning boat.
The Coast Guard crew took all 12 people aboard their Trailerable Aids to Navigation Boat and transported them to shore.
All people who were aboard the burning boat were accounted for and no injuries were reported.
