CORRECTION: UPDATE: Coast Guard ends search for missing boater
NEW YORK – The Coast Guard ended its search for a male boater missing since Thursday near East Rockaway Inlet, N.Y.
A Nassau County Police Department marine unit recovered and identified deceased 57 year-old male, Stanislaw Nawrocki, of Ridgewood, N.Y., Friday.
Coast Guard HU-25 Falcon Jet and MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter crews from Air Station Cape Cod, Mass., a Coast Guard MH-65D Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., the Coast Guard Cutter Bainbridge Island crew, homeported in Highlands, N.J., and Coast Guard 47-foot motor lifeboat and 25-foot response boatcrews from Station Jones Beach N.Y., searched more than 190 square miles with air, land and marine units from Nassau County, New York Police Department, Hempstead Bay Constables and Atlantique Beach.
