BOSTON — Coast Guard rescue crews medically evacuated a 25-year-old male from the fishing vessel Integrity, an 88-foot fishing vessel, approximately 50 miles south of Martha's Vineyard, Mass., at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday.
Watchstaders at the Sector Southeastern New England command center were notified at 1:13 p.m., from the crew of the fishing vessel Integrity reporting that a 25-year-old male crewmember was experiencing heat-stroke like symptoms and was in need of medical attention.
The crewmember was reported to be unresponsive.
"The Coast Guard urges mariners on the water to use caution in hot temperatures," said Richard Elliott, a Sector Southeastern New England command center controller. "It is important to keep yourself well hydrated and protected from the sun."
