Press Briefing by The Interdiction Committee

WASHINGTON -- Senior members of The Interdiction Committee (TIC) will conduct a press briefing at the El Paso Intelligence Center Thursday to outline recent accomplishments and address current challenges in U.S. drug interdiction efforts. 

The Interdiction Committee is a standing interagency body of law enforcement agencies that have international counter drug authorities and responsibilities.  TIC serves as the operational and tactical adviser to the US Interdiction Coordinator (USIC) and the Director of White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) for international counter drug activities.  Last year, a record 360 metric tons of cocaine were removed from the transit zone before reaching U.S. shores.
