WASHINGTON — The U.S. Coast Guard will mark the birthday of aviation in the service by hosting an open house for media and invited guests scheduled for Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 3.p.m., here at Coast Guard Air Station Washington, Hangar 6, Reagan National Airport.
Coast Guard Vice Commandant, Vice Adm. Vivien S. Crea, Assistant Commandant for Acquisition Rear Adm. Gary T. Blore, and Capt. Michael Emerson, chief of the office of aviation forces, will talk about the 93rd birthday of Coast Guard aviation, provide an update on the Coast Guard's aviation assets and discuss the aircraft's operational successes, respectively.
Attendees will have a unique opportunity to speak with Coast Guard aviators and to tour aircraft including the MH-65C Multi-Mission Cutter Helicopter, MH-60T Medium Range Recovery Helicopter, HC-130J Long Range Surveillance Aircraft, and the Coast Guard's newest aviation asset, the HC-144A Medium Range Surveillance Aircraft.
