CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Lieutenant John Titchen, Petty Officer 2nd Class Mike Franco, Master Chief Petty Officer Carl Granquist, Petty Officer 2nd Class Bonnie Wysocki, Master Chief Petty Officer Mark Moore, Petty Officer 1st Class Tom Carry, Petty Officer 2nd Class David Tonon, and Petty Officer 1st Class Mike Brennan joined more than 1,000 members from the U.S. Army, Air Force and Marine Corps to celebrate Coast Guard Day by participating in the Coast Guard Day 5K, Aug. 4, 2010. “It was awesome that they remembered us and celebrated Coast Guard Day,” said Tonon, a marine science technician and hazardous materials expert. “It definitely gave me some pride to be out there in a Coast Guard t-shirt and Coast Guard shorts in the middle of all these Army and Air Force folks.” U.S. Coast Guard photo.

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Eight Coast Guardsmen joined more than 1,000 service members from the U.S. Army, Air Force and Marine Corps to celebrate Coast Guard Day by participating in the Coast Guard Day 5k, Aug. 4, 2010. Runners braved the 93-degree heat at 6 a.m. to participate in the event sponsored by the Army’s Morale Welfare and Recreation staff at Camp Arifjan. Coast Guardsmen are deployed to Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan in support of a number of operational and support roles.
