COAST GUARD NAMED GREAT PLACE TO WORK WASHINGTON - The Washingtonian magazine announced today that the U.S. Coast Guard's Headquarters has been selected from more than 225 candidates in the Washington area as a "Great Place to Work." Coast Guard Headquarters "was one of 55 workplaces, including seven government agencies, chosen because of its interesting work, good benefits, collegial staff, stability, and flexibility," said Sherri Dalphonse, senior editor at The Washingtonian. All of the selected workplaces are profiled in an article in The Washingtonian's current issue. "Coast Guard Headquarters is filled with wonderful people making a difference in the lives of their fellow Americans every day," said Adm. Thomas Collins, commandant of the Coast Guard. "These professionals truly make our headquarters a 'Great Place to Work.'" Every day, civilians in the Coast Guard work together with military personnel to secure the homeland, save lives, enforce the law, operate ports and waterways, and protect the environment.
