For many reason, I truly appreciate this book, and I LOVE many of the recipes. This meal is full of wonderful, satisfying FAT. That&#8217;s right. FAT. It does a body good.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I should explain. Fat and carbohydrates are both important to your body. The problem is that they don&#8217;t play nicely together &#8212; the body rarely has the chance to burn off both fuel sources. But weight loss (and health!) occur rather effortlessly when you eat single fuel meals &#8212; fat OR carbohydrates. My new blog, www.nourishedskillets.com, will soon be sharing many posts explaining this concept and why it&#8217;s about so much more than just the numbers on the scale. This isn&#8217;t a fad or the latest craze. As an RN, I stand behind the science and physiology, and I HIGHLY recommend the book. The recipe? Oh yeah \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Basically, this tastes exactly like a cheeseburger without the bun; hence the name &#8220;Cheeseburger Pie&#8221;. I&#8217;ve made other recipes by this name. None of them actually tasted good. This one DOES.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brown 2 lbs of ground beef (feel free to double for a crowd).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add 3 tsp onion powder and 1 tsp salt (or cheat and use 1 packet onion soup mix).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place beef mixture into a casserole dish and stir in 6 oz. grated cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Layer any &#8220;cheeseburger toppings&#8221;, i.e. onions, pickles, canned or fresh diced tomatoes, jalepenos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In another bowl, beat 2 eggs, 1\/2 cup mayo, 1\/2 cup heavy cream (I used whole milk), sea salt, and pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour mixture over everything and top with another 6 oz. cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serve with mustard and ketchup, and enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2-13-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2-13-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2-13-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2-13-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2-13-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2-13.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>*I was not paid to endorse this book.
