It’s just a few ideas of what I am hoping to achieve over the years, with a few changes and other ideas.

This week has been GROUNDBREAKING for us (kind of) as we finally almost have the bedroom done. I decided to go for white walls, white floors and keep the woodwork (skirting boards and the shutter panels around the window etc.) natural. I wanted lots of white, but didn’t want the room all white (like the office) and also really didn’t want to cover up the beautiful wood we have in our flat so it seemed kind of natural to keep it in the end.

Last night Jordan and I sanded the floors (by hand, tough – but they’re in quite good condition already) and then put down one coat of paint. So far, so good!

The bedroom is a good size so I think I’ll corner off one… corner (lol) and have a little dressing area. I’m definitely going to buy the IKEA Songe mirror, it’s so huge and beautiful. I love it propped against the wall like the above. I think I’ll pop in shelves on one of the walls so I can display some bags and shoes or something.

As for the living room, I’m still trying to decide on a sofa. I want two facing each other, but so far I’ve only decided on one and that’s the Made Garston Love Seat above – how cute! I am telling myself I’ll only have sofas with caster or ornate feet, so this fits the bill. I think I will get a larger three-seat sofa in grey but I can’t decide on one (I’m thinking this one in the Trafalgar Slate shade) so I think I’ll get this little mint beauty first. I’d love to stain our living room floors to match the feet but it seems to big of a job right now – I’ll put it on my never-ending ‘to do’ list.

I love the living room of the left there because it kind of has a similar layout to ours. I really need to buy a couple of huge rugs but they’re so expensive – I’m trying to buy mostly second hand furniture to do it up and the only big thing we have to buy now is a sofa (well, two) so paying £600 for a couple of big rugs seems like a farce. I have been looking on Etsy so hopefully I’ll find a nice one soon. I keep having the IKEA dilemma where I tell myself I don’t want too much IKEA furniture but then it’s so nice and affordable and easy to get hold of! Someone make a new IKEA-type shop.

I’m still in love with dark grout tiles, I think this is my next DIY job – except I’ve decided to do it in the kitchen rather than the bathroom. I like the longer subway tiles rather than square I think, they seem a bit more chic somehow.

Hopefully it won’t be long until we get the flat in order, right now it seems like a building site! What do you think of my first mood board?

As I’m constantly leafing through inspiration on Pinterest and in magazines, I thought I would…

[13
