If you’re not prone to splurging on your cosmetics, look away now…

I’ve been waiting to try some May Lindstrom skincare for some time now, it’s such a luxe, natural brand and I’ve only ever heard such amazing things. I know my girl Annabel is a huge fan too, and she’s pretty much my skincare guru, so it was only a matter of time before this ended up in my hot little hands. May Lindstrom Skin ‘The Problem Solver’ Mask (£69) is a powdered product which you mix up with water to create a mousse-like formula, which you then apply to cleansed skin.

It’s a purifying mask which detoxes the skin of impurities, so it’s ideal if you’re having a bit of a breakout or seeing a lot of congestion going on with those pores. I have blemish-prone skin so I tend to use a clay mask in some form a few times a month – I think they make a world of difference.

The mask combines bamboo charcoal and circulation-boosting spices to produce this amazing, fast-action mask – the first thing I noticed was how this warmed and tingled on the skin! I quite like feeling a tingle because it lets me know it’s working, so this didn’t bother me too much. I did put quite a bit on the first time I used it, so the second time (and from there onwards) I just mixed up a smaller amount and it wasn’t so noticeable. I just use a small bowl and a spoon to measure out the powder and water, according to the instructions on the box – it’s not too messy, and it’s all quite fun really. The mixed mask looks like chocolate mousse and it’s quite odd to apply at first, but soon you get used to it.

The ingredients within are all-natural, vegan and sustainably sourced (the list goes on, seriously), May herself used to be a model and now she cooks up these incredible formulas straight from her kitchen. It’s pretty impressive and I’m so keen to try more from the brand, I can see it being one of those brands I try and become slightly obsessed with! I’d happily repurchase this, although considering how little you need to use to make up one mask, I doubt I’ll be getting through this any time soon.

You can also mix up the mask with manuka honey or yoghurt, to experience other benefits – I’ll definitely be trying this next time.

All in all, one heck of a skincare product! My skin looked and felt incredible after just one use – I try to apply it every ten days or so, in order to keep my complexion looking clear. I think it helps overall to improve the skin – blemishes are reduced, pores are decongested and my skin looks healthier. It’s a little bit of a miracle worker if you ask me.

Have you tried anything from May Lindstrom Skin?

Help, I’ve become addicted to an expensive skincare product again.
