{"id":676,"date":"2016-02-06T16:51:08","date_gmt":"2016-02-06T16:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/?p=676"},"modified":"2020-07-30T04:27:23","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T04:27:23","slug":"2589270","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/reading\/2589270","title":{"rendered":"New Workspace Inspiration."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For some reason I\u2019ve had a bit of a struggle getting my workspace just right \u2013 I\u2019m trying to find the balance between \u2018I actually work here\u2019 and \u2018I need a nice tidy zone to work in\u2019. I\u2019ve decided that I definitely need more surfaces and also a few more soft furnishings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment my workspace is very white (walls, floors furniture \u2013 see the tour here), which I like as I use it as a studio so it needs to have lots of light. I have a lot of colourful items, so it balances it out \u2013 but I would like a few more dashes of colour. I quite like the idea of one wallpapered or painted wall (like the above \u2013 source), it could work well as a photo backdrop \u2013 but I\u2019m not completely sold on the idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end I went for a much longer desk, so I can have on it my iMac, room for storage, my printer etc. and also have space for working at and using my sewing machine. I like the desk here (source), it\u2019s got a lot going on but it still feels super clean \u2013 I don\u2019t like the idea of a monochrome room though, I need colour!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"612\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NEW-WORKSPACE-INSPIRATION.2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-678\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NEW-WORKSPACE-INSPIRATION.2.jpg 612w, https:\/\/www.uscgnews.com\/go\/doc\/4007\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NEW-WORKSPACE-INSPIRATION.2-300x196.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll definitely be going for a more gold, pastel, metallic vibe like on the left (source), it looks so pretty! I\u2019ve decided to get rid of my Expedit shelves because they take up too much room, so I think I\u2019ll go for high bookshelves instead \u2013 we shall see!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m enjoying the planning stages far too much, but I can\u2019t wait to have a longer desk!
