Its no secret around here that I have a bad sense of direction. I could get lost in a paper bag and as a result, I don’t like driving in new places. We often tag along with my husband on business trips, but I stay close to the hotel while he’s working so that I don’t get lost and then panic. I have no idea why we didn’t get a GPS earlier, but thankfully Magellan sent us their RoadMate 3065 Vehicle Navigation GPS.

Our Thoughts:
I haven’t been out of town yet, but after using my GPS several times, I feel confident that I’ll never get lost again! Getting started was extremely easy, I simply plugged it into the outlet, attached it to my windshield and turned it on.

Once I’m at the menu screen, I have a bunch of options to choose from. The AAA Tour book is by far my favorite feature, and you don’t have to be a member to access it. I have found several restaurants that I didn’t even know existed! It even has them categorized by type(Chinese, Mexican, etc). It also has every other type of place you could think of-all you have to do is go to the menu and look up those types of establishments and it will provide you with a large list of anything close to you. If you click on it, the Magellan will give you directions on how to get there. When we’re traveling, all I have to do is look up the type of place that I’m looking for and my Magellan will get me there without getting lost and panicking.

If you know the address of where you are going, just type it in. Once you start typing in the first few letters, the Magella will recognize what you’re doing and show you all the options of Cities, roads, etc with those letters. I’m not always the best at spelling roads I’m not familiar with, so that feature is a definite plus.

The Magellan RoadMate 3065 really has more features than I could possibly list. It seems like I’m always finding out it did something that I didn’t realize before. As a Stay-At-Home-Mom, I don’t usually need the morning traffic updates, but I am so thankful that it is an option if needed. The only thing I don’t like about this feature is that it has to be fully charged to give you your updates. If I’m not parked in our garage, I’m not leaving this GPS in my car overnight, and sometimes it isn’t fully charged.
The Bluetooth capabilities are fantastic. I never even know a GPS could pair up with my phone. It takes a few minutes to get started, but then you can even download your contacts into it! I also like that if I deviate from the route, it doesn’t annoyingly keep telling me that I did. It just readjusts and tells me another way to get there from the direction I’m going. Another thing that I couldn’t help but laugh at, is that at night the background is black instead of the usual green(because it is dark out).
The Magellan RoadMate 3065 Vehicle Navigation GPS would make an awesome gift for anyone that drives-especially any new drivers on your list. Be sure to visit Magellan to learn more and view their other products for more gift giving ideas.
