Dabbling in Eye Cream.

Dabbling in Eye Cream.

Despite my love of skincare, I’ve never been one to go OTT on eye cream – I know, I know, and I call myself a beauty blogger. I’ve always thought I was too young to use them, or they just didn’t seem to do a huge amount to warrant me spending money on them. Whatever the reason, as soon as I hit the big ol’ twenty-four, I knew things round here had to change my ways…

One product that really helped me see the light on eye creams was the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream, an absolute miracle worker that most of you won’t be able to get your hands on. Typical. This stuff is what bright-eyed dreams are made of; it’s incredibly light, blends perfectly and really hydrates, softens and awakens my delicate peepers. It’s one of the only eye creams I’ve tried that actually makes enough difference for me to use it regularly – otherwise I pretty much won’t bother.
If you have the chance to pick this up (I hear you can email their London store), you simply must.

Another cream I think is just wonderful is the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (£20), which also makes a noticeable difference, especially to tired eyes. It instantly feels relieving, and I think it’s a great buy for those who want to care for dehydrated eyes without entering in to the anti-ageing thing.

Of course, there’s also Origins GinZing Eye Cream (£23), the original brightening base. This works wonders on camouflaging late nights, it has a sheer tint and a hint of light-reflecting shimmer so it completely transforms the eye area. I find I use WAY less concealer when I sweep this on, as it blurs the dark circles and tones down the puffiness. A great pick for post-hangover days where you need to look presentable – take it from me.

I think I’m fully committed to eye cream application now – even if it is only once per day. Have you found ‘the one’ yet?
