Everyday Haircare & Styling Routine.

EVERYDAY HAIRCARE & STYLING ROUTINE.

My new shorter hair and longer fringe (yep) has meant that I’ve had to change up my everyday routine to account for a whole new style. I’m in the process of growing out my fringe – although I have a daily battle over whether or not I actually should – so it’s at that kind of awkward stage. I’m currently sporting a fringe my 15 year old self would be proud of.

To start with, I wash my hair – usually daily as my hair is quite fine so achieving second-day hair is just impossible (unless I do it on freshly washed hair). At the moment I’m using the new Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Shampoo (£23) and the Conditioner (£25) – these are super lightweight (and intensely nourishing) so I don’t even reverse wash with them, it just doesn’t seem necessary. They smell delicious, really cleanse my hair and leave it feeling super lovely.

Once my hair has been towel-dried, I use the brilliant R+Co Rockaway Salt Spray (£23), a product that I just can’t get enough of right now. This adds some much-needed grit to my fine hair, giving it a bit more oomph! but without the crispiness you usually get from salt sprays. It’s my favourite hair product right now – I just spritz a little on to my hands and then scrunch through my hair. Easy!

I then brush through my hair and allow it to dry naturally most of the way, before getting a little blow dry action involved. I’m pretty minimal when it comes to my routine and I like to leave my hair be, but I can’t argue with a touch of volume.

I use a round brush and my new GHD Aura Hairdryer (£145), I absolutely love using this – before it I had a terrible old hairdryer that didn’t do much for my hair. The Aura leaves my hair full of life, and completely smoothed and shiny. It’s a dream to use as well, and I find it works well alongside the salt spray because it injects so much body and gloss in to my locks. I start with my fringe first, pulling the section of hair out and over to one side to achieve more of a fuller side fringe.

Using the round brush really adds so much life to my hair, and the Aura gets in there and dries the hair so smoothly – I notice a big difference when I actually take the time to blowdry my hair.

As a final step, I go through a lightly wave my hair with my GHD Stylers (£89) – this just gives my naturally straight hair a bit of texture. I spend about two minutes doing this but it adds a whole lot of body. I also use the KMS 2-in-1 Styling + Finishing Spray (£17.50). I actually use this as a texturising spray to add a little more grit to my hair, and also help to get that tousled effect to the waves. I use this everyday for adding texture and it works so well, it gives my hair such a relaxed, casual look which I feel is very me!

I feel like my hair routine feels very elaborate but in truth, it’s very slap-dash. This routine probably takes 30 minutes from start to finish and it’s only that long because I like to dry my hair naturally for as long as possible. I’m such an effortless person but I’ve definitely fine-tuned this routine so it’s quick and works for me.
