I have taken strides in the past few years to make sure our cabinets have more natural products. I have switched out most of our medicine for essential oils and am trying my best to kick the processed foods for organic. Wild Oats recently sent me a box full of their products to try. The Wild Oats brand broke ground in organics in 1987, recently re-launching in select Walmart stores making authentic and affordable food within everyone’s reach.

If, like me, you’re just hearing about this fabulous brand – check out this video to learn more. Wild Oats still believes that everyone has a right to great-tasting, high-quality products that are affordable and easy to find without having to make an extra trip to a specialty store. Their products are USDA certified and cost 25% less than the national leading organic brand. Check out the 125 ingredients that they never use.
The first food we tried from our package was the Organic Applesauce. I put it in our reusable pouch and my two year old sucked it down in no time. The two jars of applesauce lasted about 2-3 days in our house. We all loved it.

I am incredibly picky about my pasta sauce. I usually stick to my favorites and was hesitant to use it with our Chicken Parmesan one night. I was pleasantly surprised and we all loved the sauce and pasta(both Wild Oats Organic). This is one of our go-to recipes. I cut chicken breasts in half(lengthways) and marinate in Italian dressing. I then dip in crushed crackers/Parmesan cheese/Italian seasonings. Pop into the oven until almost done and pour pasta sauce on top for the last few minutes of baking. Make some pasta while it is in the oven, add some garlic bread, and you have a yummy meal! As you can see from the ingredient list, this sauce is simple, yet delicious. It is something I can feel confident feeding my family.

My son’s favorite meal is tacos right now. We used the Wild Oats Organic mild salsa on our last taco night, and we loved it.

There will be a Twitter Party (#wildoatschat) with their CEO Tom Casey Tuesday 8/26, 3 pm ET about affordable organic. Everyone who submits a question will be entered to win some fun Wild Oats Organic Prize Packs! Winners will be announced at the end of the party. Part of the chat will be focused on Back To School recipes, so be sure to hop on twitter if possible.

We have had a chance to try many of the Wild Oats products and have enjoyed them all. We look forward to trying more and transitioning our cabinets to Organic products that we can afford. Visit Wild Oats to learn more and view their full selection of products.
