One of Evan’s absolute favorite movies is Cars. We have watched it more times than I can count and he has been so excited that Cars 2 is finally coming out. We were sent Cars 2: The Video Game several weeks ago in anticipation of the new movie.
Inspired by the upcoming Disney·Pixar animated film, Cars 2: The Video Game lets players jump into the Cars 2 universe with some of their favorite Cars personalities in exotic locations around the globe. Play as Mater, Lightning McQueen, and other brand new characters as players train to become world-class spies in the international training center – C.H.R.O.M.E. (Command Headquarters for Recon Operations and Motorized Espionage). Take on dangerous missions, compete to become the fastest racecar in the world, or use spy skills in exciting, action-packed combat racing and battle arenas. Players can race against friends and family in either single or multiplayer modes with up to four players to unlock challenging new tracks, characters, events and thrilling spy missions.
When the Wii Game first arrived, I was a little concerned because the rating is Everyone 10+ because of cartoon violence. I popped it in and immediately decided it was fine for Evan to play. He shocked me with how quickly he caught on to driving the cars and doing his “tricks”. You have the option of using the controller and nunchuck, but I let him just use the controller so that he has less to worry about. The game does a fantastic job at explaining(training) how to get the car to have special skills.
Multiple players can play at once and choose to play as any of the 20 or more characters to train as spies. I always pick Lightening McQueen and Evan picks Mater. We can go through training at the same time and then race against each other and other cars in battles. I truly enjoy playing this game right along with him and we have played it countless times over the past few weeks. The graphics are fantastic and Mater is constantly cracking Evan up with the unexpected things that he says.
Cars 2: The Video Game has quickly become our favorite Wii game and our family definitely suggests trying it out.
