While at the Children’s Museum a few weeks ago, Evan seemed to show a huge interest in the puppets. They had obviously been loved by many children and I thought the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Puppet Theater would be perfect for cold or rainy days at our house.

It’s always show time! This wooden puppet theater has been designed with a sturdy, non-tip base and plenty of room inside for a puppeteer or two! The stylized theatrical graphics and plush, velvety curtains will inspire creativity and expression in any child. Including a clock with movable hands and a chalkboard panel for playbill information, it’s a stage just awaiting imagination!

It came in several large pieces with a few smaller parts and didn’t take my husband very long to put together.

The front of the puppet theater has a clock and a chalkboard at the bottom so that you can write whatever you want.

The curtain can open up or stay closed to hide the people behind it.

In addition to the theater, Melissa And Doug also sent the Pirate Puppet and the Make Your Own Princess Puppet.

Both of the puppets are great, but the Make Your Own Princess puppet is so neat! You can change her hair, clothes, and jewelry to make her look how you want her to. The pieces just Velcro on, making it easy to change her look.

We take turns putting on a show for each other. Evan and Isabella both giggle when they see one of the puppets pop up from behind the curtain. As you can see, even the sides have curtains so no one can see what the people behind the screens are doing.

The Melissa And Doug Puppet Theater has the kids using their imagination more than ever. Evan has to be really creative to come up with new stories for the puppets to act out, which is really fun to watch. We make silly voices for each puppet, which makes it even more fun. I look forward to purchasing more Melissa And Doug hand puppets to make our puppet shows even better. My cousin’s son got a puppet theater when he was in preschool and I remember him playing with it all the time. It really is so much fun and gives our family another activity to do together.
