Hayneedle – Electric Beach Racer Four-Wheeler Riding Toy ($269 ARV) Review + Giveaway

Evan has had a love for four-wheelers since he was a baby. He would call them “vroom vrooms” and we would all take turns riding him up and down the driveway. We even got him a battery powered artic cat for his second Christmas and he couldn’t ride it by himself yet. He has since put more miles on that toy than I can count and we bought him a ride on CAT for my mom’s house. I knew it was only a matter of time before he start asking for one that looks like a four-wheeler.

Hayneedle has many amazing battery powered ride-on toys that makes picking just one impossible. They have over 200 specialty stores that are sure to have everything that you’re looking for. I spent so much time in their fantastic variety of stores searching for the perfect item for a review and giveaway. The selection is amazing and the prices are really good.

I ended up going with the Electric Beach Racer Riding Toy.

For those sunny afternoons on the beach, or perhaps the cul-de-sac, this Beach Racer has the right stuff. Appropriate for kids up to 9 years old, it seats two children with a 110-pound total weight capacity. You’ll get about two hours of fun off of a full charge, during which time the kids will be thrilled by the 7 mph maximum speed. You, happily, will easily be able to keep up.

Other features included are side view mirrors, a sound button, accelerator pedal, forward/reverse switch, and a high/low speed switch.

Features:

Weight capacity: 110 pounds
Weight: 27 pounds
Two 6V DC motors
Includes 12V charger; charges in about 10 hours
Recommended for children 5 to 9 years old
Evan was beyond thrilled when he saw this box arrive. He had to wait for the battery to charge, but my husband was able to get it put together pretty quickly. That green button in the middle of the fast/slow and forward/reverse buttons is to make different sounds. Isabella likes going up to it and pushing it.

Even though it had been raining that day, he HAD to ride it right away. He was so excited that it goes a little faster than his other “vroom vroom”.

The age recommendation is 5-9 years old, but I disagree. Every child will be different, but Evan has been riding battery powered vehicles since he was 18 months old. This one goes a little faster than his others, but not so fast that he can’t still control it. If it was me, I would put the age recommendation at 3-9(or until your child is too big for it).

He has made a little “track” around our yard and rides it over and over again. He was so thrilled to show his new four-wheeler to my parents for the first time and always wants us to load it up to take to their house too. Some of his other battery powered toys are really heavy and awkward to try and move around, but this one is pretty light and I can easily move it around the yard or pick it up and put in the back of the truck to take with us.

Even though Evan is absolutely in love with this toy, I have a few complaints. The battery is impossibly for me to take off of the charger by myself. I’m not a really weak person, but I can not pull it off of the charger. With a good bit of effort, I’m able to get it on, but I can’t get it off. Poor Evan has to wait until his daddy gets home if it is on the charger. The battery also seems to die really quickly. Evan rides this sporadically during the day. It doesn’t feel like he puts hours of time into it, but we have to charge it almost every night. The battery runs down faster on this one than any of the other ride-ons that he has and he has already blown one of the fuses(it comes with a few extras). Also, the mirrors snapped off and he wasn’t doing anything really crazy on it, they were just pretty weak.

Even though I have my personal complaints with it, there isn’t anything serious enough that would keep me from getting it again. I only wish it came with two batteries and they were much easier to unhook from the charger. Evan absolutely adores this Riding Toy and rarely wants to ride on his old ones. I’m thrilled that it holds up to 110 pounds so both of my kids will be able to ride it for many years to come and the seat is large enough where two small kids can ride at the same time.

This would make an awesome gift for any child to ride on the beach, backyard, or even around the neighborhood. This toy by far gets more use than any of his other toys. Be sure to visit Hayneedle to learn more and view their huge variety of products.
