Fragrances aren’t often something I talk about on here, I guess describing scents is quite the task and I’m also very picky when it comes to perfumes – there’s only a handful that I would actually wear myself. Thankfully, the ones I do wear I absolutely adore – so here’s a mini roundup…
Diptyque Vetyverio EDT, £55
This has to be one of my favourite scents, I’m actually almost out of it as I keep spritzing it on. I love the musky, masculine notes of the two vetiver plants which are balanced out by the grapefruit, bergamot (a favourite of mine) and mandarin. I always know if a fragrance has vetiver or bergamot in it, I’m bound to love it. This works really well layered with fruity, floral or too-sickly scents, it really plays down the sweet notes. I will definitely be repurchasing another bottle, it’s just beautiful – and it lasts so well on my skin and clothes for an EDT. I loved this a little more as an A/W fragrance but it’s nice in the evening in summer too.
Stella McCartney Stella EDP, £39.50
I love everything about this beautiful fragrance, especially the adorable limited edition bottle! This has notes of rose, peony and mandarin essence – which sounds like it’s going to be very ‘young’ but it’s actually so chic and sophisticated. I feel like this is the perfect everyday fragrance as it’s not too offensive, it’s light but noticeable and very charming. I also think it works well when worn all year round, it’s not too fresh and not too musky.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream EDT, £52
I have just about every version of Marc Jacobs Daisy going, so of course the latest release was going to end up in my hands. I think we’ve all swooned over that perfect bottle, it’s just too pretty! I feel like this is a more grown-up version of the original Daisy’s, it’s very fruity – with notes of grapefruit, blackberry and pear – and is a little less sweet than the original offerings. I really like it, I think it’s beautiful both alone and layered up with something less fruity. Even if you’re not a huge fan of Daisy, I think you would probably adore this – so easy to wear as an everyday fragrance and quite a good option for all year round wear too.

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede, £40
This little lovely seems to be everyone’s favourite – I just adore peonies so I guess this was always going to be a favourite of mine. I love layered this up with more musky, woody scents as I think it takes away some of the sweetness for an evening scent – but during the day I tend to just wear it alone. With notes of red apple, jasmine and rose, this is one for the crisp, fruity and floral lovers. It really is such a delicious combination of notes and I’ve been wearing it a lot over the last six months.
Aerin Waterlily Sun, £85
This gorgeous perfume isn’t actually launching until next month, as part of the brands autumn collection – but I just had to include it. I never usually fall in love with fragrances straight away, but this is just heavenly. It’s very fresh, I like how light it is and how it has this balance of fruit and floral in there. I definitely recommend this if you like a little bit of musk and perhaps something a bit different. It’s so gorgeous, as is that divine bottle.
