Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Oil- Control Mask.

CLINIQUE ANTI-BLEMISH SOLUTIONS OIL-CONTROL MASK.

I’ve had another one of my awkward breakouts again this week, a regular occurrence but still one that gets me down. When this happens, I rely on a few skincare products to get me through; one of them being an impressive clay mask.

The Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Oil-Control Cleansing Mask (£20) was a sort of ‘last hope’ product that I picked up in a desperate attempt to calm and control my skin when it was breaking out a few months ago. I didn’t expect myself to be a big fan of the Anti-Blemish Solutions range, I usually find skincare aimed at acne-prone skin a little too harsh for me – but the mask is something I would definitely recommend.

As you would expect, this is a clay mask – it’s quite fluid so it’s easy to apply and it works in just five minutes so I’m usually pretty good at applying it once per week. It aims to help control oil, keeping the skin balanced so there’s no build up of excess oil (which can lead to spots).

It aims to decongest the skin, something that I seem to need often, as well as heal up current blemishes and prevent new breakouts from occurring.

I usually apply this after double cleansing in the evening, sometimes after a peel mask if I have time. I don’t find it too stripping, but I do make sure to apply a good facial oil and follow with a moisturiser after use, and occasionally I will use a cleansing oil underneath the mask which I find helps my skin to feel more supple and nourished after using a clay mask.

This really lives up to its description, I find that a once weekly application helps in keeping my skin clear and excess sebum under control. Current blemishes take less time to heal up and my skin copes with breakouts far better, which means there’s less chance of any hormonal spots coming to a head.

All in all, a bit of a winner.
