I actually made this in to a little video but didn’t upload it, so I turned it in to a nifty blog post instead. As you may have noticed, I’ve been in London all week and so a post like this was inevitable!
- The Base.
I actually spoke about my dreamy base duo in this post; the Sunday Riley Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer (£38) and the Revlon PhotoReady SkinLights Face Illuminator in Bare Light (£11.99) work SO well together. Seriously… so well. You wouldn’t think it, but they actually provide all the coverage I need, but without the caked on look. They’re both primers which sounds a little weird, but they do wonders for the skin – transforming a dull, blemished and uneven complexion in seconds. Me love. - The Concealers.
My two go-to concealers right now are the YSL Touche Éclat (£25), which I use to highlight under my eyes, down the nose, on the forehead and cheekbones, and the Maybelline Fit Me Anti-Shine Stick (£8.99) – yes I use primers as foundation and foundation as concealer – whatever next. The Anti-Shine stick is one of my favourite finds of the year, it offers incredible coverage that is weightless and velvety. They’re so, so creamy so they blend beautifully but don’t cake or look dry once blended. I sweep this over any problem areas, either under my primer duo base or over the top. Sometimes both. You need this stuff! - The Cheeks.
Again, there’s two products that I use for happy skin in the cheek category; the first is a NARS blush (£22.50), I won’t get on any form of long-distance transport without a NARS blush – they are just flawless in my eyes. I chose the limited edition shade Day Dream, which is a peachy, subtly shimmered shade that I think of as being a mix of Orgasm and Deep Throat. It’s perfect, oh so perfect.
I also have the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow (£17.50) which I use to contour with, ever so slightly. This is meant for eyes and it’s super versatile, so it’s handy to have. Ideal for fair skin tones or those new to contouring as it’s hard to go wrong with, too. - The Eyes.
I usually pack up the Urban Decay Naked Basis Palette (£22) if I’m off on any sort of adventure, although this is mainly made up of matte shades. I find it’s easy enough to get along with when I go away, though so don’t let that put you off. It’s so light which makes it ideal for popping in your makeup bag and I find the quality impressive too. I seem to make up endless combinations of shadows using this so it’s a good one to have.
As for mascara, I settled for the L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara (£8.99) as it adds so much volume and curl and it doesn’t smudge at all! It’s been amazing in the hot weather, so I’m giving it the thumbs up once more. - The Tools.
Finally, I have the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers (£20) as I’m pretty much addicted to curling my lashes right now – these curlers really do live up to the hype, and I packed everything up in the most handy of makeup bags too, this little number is from MUJI (£7) and I swear by it. It has so many compartments for holding and organising all your bits and pieces, can be filled with an impressive amount of products and is on sale. It’s fate!
