I love doing these ‘home snippets’ posts and so I thought I would give you a sneak peek of the bedroom – even though it’s not quite finished yet! I went for quite a serene, calming feel in here as I wanted this to be a place we could just chiiiiilll.
It looks a little bare at the moment, but we’re getting there. I really need some cute prints, I have an entire Society6 basket filled with items but I’m not sure it’s worth the customs charges. Anyone shopped on here before and had stuff sent to the UK?
I have a whole other room for my makeup and other clutter, which is great but I’m not sure I want to bring in my makeup table in to the bedroom right now. I’m a morning person so I’m always up at the crack of dawn and Jordan’s more of a night owl and I hate getting ready when I know he’s snooozin’. Plus it’s handy to have in the office room for photography purposes, I can just pull out what I need and snap away.
The lovely lot at H&M Home sent me some amazing pieces this week, see below, so I’ve been adding them in as they all really work with the room. I buy a lot (A LOT) of home bits from H&M, they’re pretty good with delivery times and they send things out when they come (it’s a bit like Wagamamas but for home stuff), so you may get different packages but you pay the same postage. Ideal.
I actually made another order this week so I’m counting down the days until that turns up!
Seen here is the Grey Moss Blanket (£34.99), Porcelain Plate (£4,99), Metal Wire Basket (£7.99), Wooden Tray (similar), Striped Cushion Cover (£6.99), Patterned Cushion Cover (£3.99) and the Rug (£19.99) – all go perfectly with the room and I just adore the minimal theme, with pops of colour of course.
I love the white floors paired with the white walls, I think it would have been too much to paint all the woodwork and I’m so glad we didn’t. I want to get more greenery in here, I’ll probably move my peace lily up higher out of the way of Mouse. She doesn’t take much interest in plants and she’s always in the same room as us but I’m not taking the risk!
We still need to put the beading around the edges of the floor – it needed to be replaced and then now I can’t find any that’s actual wood rather than laminate stuff so that’s today’s mission! After that, we’re done!
I hope you liked this little sneak peek, remember to follow me on Instagram to see more! I’ll also put up a full post of the transformation because the room before was horrible. Truly.
What do you think of the room?
