As Valentine’s day is here, I thought I would round up my favourite flirty lip colours for date nights. I am actually not a big lipstick collector, I’m oddly very picky with the shades I wear, so if I feature a lip product on here you know it’s a bit special. Like myself.
I have five shades here that everyone should own – seriously, these shades are just divine. I thought I would give a little rundown on the finish, quality… that sort of thing. You can see a little swatch of the colours below too.
Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Sunset Orange (£19.50): this is a funny shade because it seems to look way more red on me than orange, but I absolutely love it. Admittedly I’m not a huge red lipstick fan, but this shade is one even I suit! The incredible formula means you really can’t go wrong – it offers the most impressive pigment, with a really creamy formula so application is fuss-free. The finish is striking – almost matte but with a hint of satin, so it’s never drying and always very, very flattering. You can see it on here.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bolero (£19): this is a long-time love of mine, I really have so much time for this colour. It’s great because the wearable coral hue works for day or night, you can tap it on lightly and sweep a bit of gloss or balm on top or go for full on colour. The matte finish isn’t drying at all, and the super creamy formula is just gorgeous – I can’t imagine this not suiting anyone.
Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral (£23): Another ‘suits all tones’ shade I recommend is Coachella Coral. This dreamy number plumps the pout and coats the lips in the most beautiful rich coral shade. It’s a lot more of a red/coral than Bolero above, it’s quite a sophisticated shade that works for all year round wear. The texture is not as creamy as most of my lipsticks, but the wear time is incredible – you won’t need to top this bad boy up for a while. See it here.

Fresh Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment: If you’re going to do playful nude lips, get your paws on this stuff. Not only does it offer a lovely dose of nourishment, the effortless lip treatment makes sure lips are kissable and beautifully nude. The shade is super natural and offers just the right amount of shine. I wear this almost everyday, it’s just too easy.
Bobbi Brown Cream Matte Lip Colour in Pink Nude (£19.50): My Bobbi Brown love-in is far from over, as I also highly recommend this minimal pinky nude hue. This will give you Kylie Jenner lips in seconds, thanks to the sultry shade and matte finish. Whenever I wear this, I get compliments – it’s just one of those colours. It’s wearable for any occasion and breathes life in to a smokey eye. Glamorous yet understated – I love it!
