New Winter Boots.

I think we all need to take a minute, find a comfortable seat and really appreciate the beauty of my new Oasis boots. Really take ‘em in, ladies – don’t miss that gorgeous gold detail around the toe, now.

These boots signify my move into adulthood – my first pair of big girl boots. Sure, I’ve had other boots – flimsy ones from the New Look kids section, or perhaps a sale Office pair back in my student days – but never full price, real leather, gold zip, two-tone ankle boots. Oh no.

I spied this sexy pair in Oasis months ago, and I was instantly smitten. The Joey Zip Boot (£70) offers everything I want from a shoe; a good heel, sturdy shape and gorgeous details that leave me breathless (this is starting to sound like the shoe fetish version of ’50 Shades of Grey’ – sorry). I snapped them up last week and my life hasn’t been the same since. I’m actually eyeing up the flat version here.

I plan to wear these babies with everything – jeans and thick socks, leggings on lazy days, maxi skirts and cropped jumpers, bare legs in spring… the list goes on. They fit beautifully, though I did size up as I am an exact five and a half, so I went for a six but I actually prefer having lots of room for snug cat socks.

I ordered online because they only had a damaged display pair in my local store, but the new ‘Seek & Send’ service worked out well. Basically, I think they search for stock in stores and send them out to you, if they don’t have them in stock in the main warehouse. It’s pretty ideal since I managed to nab myself a pair when they technically should have been sold out. Win!
