I’m “that girl” who would rather eat a bundle of broccoli than the steak that came with the meal. I have never had a hard time eating my recommended amount of fruits and veggies, but The National Fruit and Vegetable Alliance recently gave America a failing grade for its fruit and vegetable consumption. Only 6% of Americans get the recommended daily servings of vegetables. Birds Eye Vegetables wants to help Americans make sure they eat their daily servings.
I try to put veggies in as many meals as possibly. Thankfully, my kids like several vegetables, but there are many that they don’t like. Neither like carrots or sweet peas which are two of my favorites. I’ve noticed that if I let Evan “help” in the kitchen while preparing meals then he will usually eat what we make. I also puree several vegetables to add to various meals so they have no idea that they are in there.
